August 15, 2007 Dear Swimmers, Divers and Parents, Hope everyone has had a very enjoyable summer! Now that we’re approaching the end of the summer season, it’s time to think about winter swimming. Please go to the website hhaaswimming.org to obtain the brochure and registration forms. Hhaa members may register by mail before the walk in registration, which will be held September 4th, 5th and 6th. Please return the forms before September 4th to guarantee your placement on the team. All new swimmers age 10 and under will be required to attend a session before the start of swim team to evaluate their practice placement on the team. These dates will be posted on the website, so please check the site for this information. The coaches will evaluate the swimmers and will determine which practice is the most beneficial for them. Also the coaches will determine whether the swimmers will be on the pre-team or the competitive team. Please select just one date. All other returning swimmers will start practice on Monday, September 24th. For the month of September the practices will be as follows: Monday: 10 and under 5:00 -6:00, Over 10 5:45 - 7:00 Divers practice times will be Monday 8:00 – 9:00, Tuesday and Thursday 7:30-9:00 There will be some Saturday practices before the meets start that will be announced. This will be the only mailing so please go to the website to print out the necessary to send the parental waiver as well as the registration form and mail it to Karen Palombo. Registration is not accepted without payment and the parental waiver. After this communication is handled by several different means. Please check our website Hhaaswimming.org often as it will contain important information. We have a family communication box, which is in the balcony and may contain some forms or notices. Please check this box often or have your swimmer check. Please utilize the website on a consistent basis as important information is given. This is also the means in which we handle emergency closings due to weather or chemical and mechanical problems with the pool. Sometimes, we do not receive adequate notification of closings and we are unable to contact anyone. This is why it is important to never just drop your swimmer off and leave. We apologize in advance if anyone is inconvenienced by emergency closings. Parent participation is required and is a very vital part of our club. If anyone is interested in participating on the board of directors, please let me know. We need various different positions filled on our Board of Directors. We also need interested members to run the timing system and to learn the computer system . We also are in need of stroke and turn judges at the meets. If you are interested in any of these positions please contact me at 215-712-9010 or speak to me at the pool or leave a note in my folder. We look forward to our 2007-2008 season.
